SAALT

Before modern currency, we traded gold, and before that, salt. This is where the word salary comes from.

When I first ventured into clothing design, I knew I wanted to understand it from the ground up, from its roots.

I started going to thrift stores, buying old garments and tearing them apart just to understand how they were made. Using my mom’s old sewing machine, I taught myself how to sew and began putting those pieces back together, reworking, remixing, and giving new life to forgotten clothing.

That process became the foundation of SAALT.

Just as salt gives flavor to bland food,  the clothing brand SAALT gives flavor to bland clothing

STUDIO

While studying architecture at Cal Poly SLO, I fell in love with studio culture.

Our studio was a raw workshop, open 24 hours a day, a place where you could chase your imagination and bring your wildest ideas to life. Unlike the real world, you didn’t have to worry about the endless constraints of clients, budgets, feasibility, building codes, or practicality.

You could simply create.

I came to think of it as "creating without consequence."

When I began exploring clothing, I wanted to preserve that same freedom: a space where an idea didn’t need to be practical, commercial, or even make complete sense before I pursued it. A place to experiment, take things apart, rebuild them, and see where an idea could go.

That is where the word STUDIO comes from.

To this day, I spend my days in my home studio doing exactly that:
