Construction Pants

Fabric: This garment is made out of two different washes of a heavy gray denim. The weight and structure of the fabric is comparable to Carhartt work pants. The fabric is also heavily faded along specified edges and high use areas.

Fit: The fit is a baggy stacked fit. There is plenty of room throughout the thighs to allow for comfort. The length allows for the pants to stack at the bottom giving them an oversized feel.

Details: These pants feature two external front hand pockets and four oversized front cargo pockets as well as oversized belt loops. The front button enclosure was completely redesigned as it offsets the front button. These pants also feature carpenter detailing in the side pockets as well as a hammer loop. A double pocket was also added to the back calf. These pants also feature a curve seam detail on the back that separated the two washes of gray denim.

Story: This piece represents how our character is often constructed from our darker times. I decided to do heavily faded work pants as the heavy fabric represents our durability in life and the heavy fade tells a story of past use. The second lighter wash of gray at the bottom of the pants represents the transition from darker to lighter times. The curved seam represents the smooth organic transition that gradually happens over time.
